Key takeaways

  • Native pre-saves, third-party account authorizations and email reminders are different actions. Label them accurately.
  • Check provider eligibility before announcing a native pre-save. A link tool cannot change a store’s requirements.
  • Unsleeve supports native provider destinations and email reminders, not its own Spotify account-login pre-save.

Start with the action, not the label

A native pre-save or pre-add happens through a streaming provider’s own flow. An email reminder asks a fan for permission to receive a message. A countdown simply displays how long remains. None of these should be described as another.

Before choosing a button label, follow the destination yourself. If the page collects an email address, “Remind me” is clearer than “Pre-save on Spotify.” If it opens a native platform page, name that platform and let it handle the save.

Check whether your release is eligible

Spotify offers native pre-saves through Countdown Pages for eligible artists and releases. Eligibility depends on the artist and the release format; it is not a feature available to every single. Check the current requirements in Spotify’s Countdown Pages guide before promising a native pre-save.

Apple Music pre-add availability depends on the release setup and delivery. Ask your distributor whether your release supports it and obtain the exact destination. A link tool cannot make an ineligible release eligible.

Plan the handover to release day

The link in the first announcement may still be circulating weeks later. Plan what someone should see when they open it after the music is out. A countdown that has reached zero without any listening buttons is a dead end.

  1. Confirm the release date, time zone and availability with your distributor.
  2. Create the page before announcing it.
  3. Add only working pre-release destinations.
  4. Decide which stores should be checked automatically and which need manual review.
  5. Keep the shared URL while replacing pre-release actions with listening actions.

Do not confuse interest with a guaranteed stream

A pre-save is a useful signal of intent, not a promise that someone will listen. An email signup is a different signal again. Keep those counts separate when reviewing the campaign.

For a small release, a simple table is enough: traffic source, page visits, native pre-save clicks, reminder signups and release-day store clicks. Compare similar periods. Avoid turning one high count into a claim about algorithmic support or guaranteed playlist placement.

How Unsleeve approaches pre-release

Unsleeve combines a countdown, native provider destinations and fan email reminders with release-day store discovery. It does not offer its own Spotify account-login pre-save. Autoscan checks supported stores and publishes exact identifier matches; uncertain results require review.

Free includes autoscan for three releases per month. If a service has not made your release available, no scanner can publish it for that service. Keep a person responsible for the final check. See the release-day workflow.
